Seeking innovative solutions from around the world

Has your company launched a new product or service, which is an innovation in its field?
… If so you could be a proud recipient of a Seatrade Award 2008.

In 2008, the internationally acclaimed Seatrade Awards scheme celebrates its 20th anniversary and continues in time-honoured fashion to recognise and reward innovation and success within the international maritime industry.

From small research teams through to large corporations, the Seatrade Awards attract interest from all sectors of the maritime industry, helping ideas from the drawing board to commercial success.

The deadline for all entries is 31 December 2007. All entries will be sent to an independent judging panel for preliminary assessment in the New Year. The winners will then be chosen from a short-list, and presented with a unique hand-crafted trophy at an awards ceremony dinner held at London's Guildhall on Monday 21 April 2008.

All short-listed entries win the right to use the Seatrade Awards logo on their websites, stationery and all publicity material. The logo is a recognised symbol of excellence and achievement within the international maritime industry, ensuring your clients know of your success.

The Seatrade Personality Award and the Seatrade Young Person Award are given for outstanding personal achievement, whilst the Seatrade Global Performer Award is to recognise a company or organisation's major contribution to the shipping industry in any field. Nominations are submitted by the international business community and the winners are chosen by Seatrade.

Benefiting others...

In keeping with the non-profit making commitment of the Seatrade Awards scheme, Seatrade will make a donation from the proceeds to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and The Mission to Seafarers.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is a registered charity that saves lives at sea. Its volunteer crews provide the 24-hour, on call, service necessary to cover search and rescue requirements to 50 miles out from the coast of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. The RNLI depends on voluntary contributions and legacies for its income.

The Mission to Seafarers cares for the welfare of seafarers of all nationalities and faiths in over 300 ports worldwide. Its chaplains and staff visit seafarers on their ships to offer a welcome, and practical and spiritual support. This includes giving a lifeline to abandoned crews, helping in times of emergency and listening when seafarers want to share their problems.

In over 100 ports it runs centres where crews can relax away from their ships, telephone or email home, and get help and advice. Founded in 1856, it is a voluntary society of the Anglican Church.
