Richard Doyle, Immediate Past Chairman, Cruise Down Under
Destination Development & the Economic Impact of Cruise Tourism

Richard has worked over 29 years in the Australian and Global Tourism industry.

Richard started his tourism life with Australian Pacific Tours (APT). For the last eleven years working with the Tourism NT based in their Sydney office, where Richard's role was Director Asia/Japan, & Cruise with primary responsibilities are for the international markets of Japan, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia & Korea and has partnership responsibilities for Cruise Destination Development and was part of the Executive Team for Tourism NT.

Richard first became involved with cruise ships when the original ‘Love Boat’ – Pacific Princess, commenced service in Australia, where APT was the appointed land operator.

He has held a number of industry positions the main ones being the State and Tourism Organisation representative on the Australian Tourism Export Council’s Japan Policy Panel and was the Chairman of Cruise Down Under, - a position he has held for the last eight years. Cruise Down Under is the leading cruise marketing association in Australia.  Richard is also a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. (AICD).
