Richard Jansen, Managing Director, Global Head, Cruise & Ferry Group, DVB
Finance for the Cruise Industry
Since joining DVB Bank in May 2000, Mr. Jansen has served on both the risk management as well origination side of DVB’s Shipping division, with stints in Rotterdam, Curacao and lately New York. Since 2005, he is the Global Head of the Cruise & Ferry Group; what is believed to be the world’s only banking unit dedicated to the passenger shipping industry, and specifically cruise, ferry and yacht finance.
Before DVB, Mr. Jansen held a position as sponsorship coordinator and marketing manager for Indy-car race team ‘Conquest Racing’ in Indianapolis, Indiana. He started his business career in The Hague with international accounting firm Ernst & Young.
Richard holds a Master-degree in International Business with a major in Finance and Accounting from the University of Tilburg, The Netherlands. Both himself as well as his family have a background in the maritime, hospitality and leisure industries.
